"I’m an intelligent, articulate, straight talking, straightforward Yorkshireman who doesn't take himself or life too seriously, has a good sense of humour, and a great sense of fun."
Vital statistics: Aged 44, height 6'1, lives North Yorkshire
Type of farm: Mine is a mixed farm – we farm both arable land and pigs – an interesting combination.
Relationship status: I’m currently single and don’t have any kids.
Living arrangements: I live alone.
Drink / smoke: I’m a social drinker, and love nothing more than a few beers with friends – but no, I don’t smoke.
Pets: I have two beautiful dogs, a brace of Lancashire heelers called Henrietta and Esmie – they are not very well trained and not very obedient – but they are great companions.
Likes: I do love sport – watching and playing in particular rugby, socialising with my wide circle of friends and cycling – I also enjoy coaching kids’ cricket, and of course, there is the big love of my life, which is farming.
Dislikes: Hmmm – well, I’ve got no time for poachers (especially men who come on to the land with lurchers) – other pet peeves include sitting in traffic, people dumping rubbish in the countryside and I do get upset about cruelty, as well.
What life's like on my farm? Life up here on my amazing farm is sometimes manic, sometimes tough, often frustrating but on the whole pretty enjoyable. Living in the countryside definitely has its advantages – there's lots of room, for one thing. We sometimes organise games of 5-aside football, cricket matches, barbies in summer, parties, plenty of room for your friends – we don't really have anyone to disturb around here.
